CPAP TREATMENT IN MONTREAL

Continuous or automatic positive airway pressure Treatment

Positive airway pressure (PAP) machines treat obstructive sleep apnea by providing a gentle air flow through a mask to splint the airway open. This prevents any blockages and allows the patient to have restorative and restful sleep. CPAP delivers a continuous pressure for the duration of your session, whereas in APAP the pressure varies within a set range of pressures in response to the patients’ breathing. The machines at Montreal Sleep Centre are capable of being programmed with either mode depending on your prescription.

To ensure our patients transition into their CPAP treatment smoothly a trial period is often suggested before a purchase. The Montreal Sleep Centre offers CPAP machine rental services as well as new CPAP machines for patients who do not wish to rent a machine, or who wish to begin treatment immediately with their own device. We offer CPAP machines from ResMed, as well as a large selection of masks from ResMed and Fisher & Paykel.

To ensure our patients transition into their CPAP treatment smoothly we often suggest a trial period before a purchase. The trial period allows patients to use one of our rental machines for 7 days* and try different masks. This will also allow our technicians to evaluate how the treatment is working. Once a patient is ready to purchase a CPAP device, we answer all questions our patients may have and educate them on the maintenance of their new machine.

When a CPAP is purchased from the Montreal Sleep Centre, follow-ups are included. These follow ups will be used for treatment education, viewing sleep reports, mask adjustments and machine inspections over the years. If a patient is having an issue with their CPAP, we will always offer a same day or next day appointment. Our goal is to ensure our patients are taken care of and have the best sleep possible.
